A GameStop hearing is happening and it involves all the major players including the CEOs of Robinhood, Citadel, Melvin Capital, and Reddit. They will testify in the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services hearing this week to discuss issues around the volatile trades of GameStop’s stock. Representative Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), who will chair the virtual hearing on Feb 18, said “I am concerned about whether or not Robinhood restricted the trading because there was collusion between Robinhood and some of the hedge funds that were involved with this.” Click here to read more.
100 million wrists now wear an Apple Watch
Five-and-a-half years later and the Apple Watch is now sitting on more than 100 million wrists. The Apple Watch crossed the 100-million mark this past December, following the launch of Apple Fitness+. Users of the Apple Watch have constantly increased from year to year with 30 million new users in 2020 nearly exceeding the number of new Apple Watch wearers in 2015, 2016, and 2017 combined. Qualcomm doesn’t like NVIDIA's $40 billion acquisition of ARM
Chipmaker, Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) has objected to NVIDIA's (NASDAQ: NVDA) proposed $40 billion acquisition of ARM. The company reportedly told the Federal Trade Commission as well as its regulatory counterparts in the UK, EU, and China that it has concerns about the impending takeover. The concerns are because it believes NVIDIA would prevent ARM from licensing its processor architecture designs to other companies. Click here to read more.
