Online sports betting operator, DraftKings (DKNG), announced that it has bought sports betting video broadcast company, Vegas Sports Information Network. The acquisition will allow DraftKings to build out its content capabilities and use VSiN to broaden its audience alongside and aid expansion. DraftKings already has existing broadcasting partnerships with Disney's (DIS) ESPN and Dish Networks (DISH). It is also an official partner to the NBA, MLB, NFL, NASCAR, UFC, PGA Tour & WWE. Macy’s says they are doing well thanks to vaccinations and stimulus checks
Macy’s (M) CEO, Jeff Gennette, said the U.S. Covid-19 vaccinations are already having a positive effect on the company’s profits. Gennette said business from loyal Macy’s customers is already up by 10%. The company said in its fourth-quarter report that it reached 7 million new customers during that time period, with 4 million of them coming through digital channels. Gennette said that the growth was driven in large part by younger and online shoppers, who spent 8% more on a year-over-year basis. (CNBC)
Amazon launches ‘AWS Space Accelerator’ to help space startups grow
Amazon (AMZN) announced that Amazon Web Service is launching a new space startup assistance program with U.K.-based venture firm, Seraphim Capital. The AWS Space Accelerator is a four-week business support program that will select 10 companies to participate with selected startups to potentially receive as much as $100,000 in “AWS Activate credit” - funds to use for various parts of Amazon’s cloud service.
